The session features insights from experienced lawyer Mr. George Lamplough, who has handled numerous kidnap-for-ransom and piracy cases. The session will examine the negotiation process in these high-stakes situations, including how such cases were managed, the strategies that proved effective, and key lessons drawn from both successful and challenging outcomes.

Mr. George Lamplough
George Lamplough is a dispute resolution lawyer with Holman Fenwick Willan specialising in crisis management, including cross-border fraud, banking and international trade disputes, marine insurance, piracy, kidnap for ransom, cyber fraud and extortion. In the maritime field, he specialises in the civil and criminal aspects of collisions, salvage, groundings, total loss and wreck removal. George has lived and worked in Hong Kong for 30 years.
