Ms. Elly Zhang, Marine Underwriter, Marine & Energy, Markel
Elly Zhang joined Markel in March 2022 as an Assistant Underwriter in our Marine & Energy team.
She began her career as Account Manager at Willis Towers Watson before moving to the Lloyd’s Market in 2022. Elly has about 5 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s market, previous supporting major lines of Marine & Energy sector incl. Marine Hull & War, Political Violence & Terrorism, Fine Art & Specie before official taking her role as Marine Underwrite specialized in Cargo, Hull & War in 2023.
She is responsible for building relationships in the market and her strong broker network ensures clients always receive an exemplary service, reinforced by her team’s longstanding established market presence.
She holds two MS in History from the University of Bath for Economics & Finance and MS from Cass Business School (current Bayes Business School) for Insurance & Risk Management and is an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.
