Mark Humphreys
Mark Humphreys moved from Melbourne to Perth in July 2009. In addition to working with the WA BEC, Mark works with ‘RiskCover’ (a division of the Insurance Commission of Western Australia), is a Director of his own risk-based consultancy (‘Brassbear Solutions’), and was recently voted onto the Board of the ‘Risk Management Institution of Australasia’ (RMIA).
Prior to moving to Perth, Mark was the ‘Manager - Operational Risk’ for the Victorian Managed Insurance Authority (VMIA) based in Melbourne, and Manager of the Liability Risk Management Team at QBE Insurance (Europe) based in London.
Mark’s experience is diverse, including qualifications, roles and institutional memberships in risk management, business continuity management, insurance, occupational safety and health, and environmental management. He holds a first degree (Bachelor of Arts, Honours) in International Politics, an MSc (Master of Science) in Emergency Management, focussing on crisis management and business continuity, and two post graduate diplomas in Occupational Health & Safety and Environmental Management. Amongst others, he is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) in the UK. Mark aims to bring his skills, qualifications and experience together to support BEC activities in WA.
