Mr. Alex Yip – Chairman

Alex is the Chief Executive Officer of Lockton Companies (Hong Kong) Limited and is responsible for its offices and operations in the Greater China Region, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangdong, Macau, and Taiwan. Prior to Lockton, he worked in leading broker firms and insurance entities in Hong Kong, Macau, and China after his graduation from Hong Kong Polytechnic University in 1985.

Alex has been working closely with the insurance regulatory authorities in various cities in China from 2006-2014, along with serving as a committee member in The Guangdong Insurance Brokers Association.

In November 2014, he was elected as a General Committee Member of The Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers (CIB).

Alex obtained his MBA in 1993. He is a qualified insurance professional and is a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Fellow of Chartered Insurance Institute (FCII) and Chartered Insurance.

Mr. Mark Johnson – Deputy Chairman

Mr. Mark Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer of Howden Insurance Brokers (HK) Limited and Howden Specialty Hong Kong Limited. Howden is part of the UK based Howden Group, a leading international insurance group with employee ownership at its heart.

Prior to joining Howden in 2017 Mark was the country CEO of JLT Thailand based in Bangkok. Before that he spent 9 years with AIG mainly in Hong Kong but also including a secondment to Canada. However, Mark started his career in the London market with Lowndes Lambert Construction Ltd., moving to Lambert Brothers Insurance Brokers Ltd. in Hong Kong in 1995. Mark has previously served on the General Committee of the HKCIB assuming the Chairmanship for two years.

Mr. Adrian King – Honorary Secretary

Adrian is a Senior Consultant of Aon Hong Kong Limited. He has 60 years experience in the insurance industry having commenced his career as a professional insurance broker in New Zealand in 1962. He has spent the past 48 years in Hong Kong specialising in construction insurance mainly for major infrastructure projects. Adrian was a founding member of the previous Hong Kong Insurance Brokers Association from 1978 and in 1993 became the first Chairman of the CIB. He has served on the General Committee since 1993.

Mr. Ricky So – Honorary Treasurer

Ricky started his risk and insurance career in 1972. He has experience in both Asia and North America as risk consultant, insurance claims handler, insurance underwriter, insurance agent and broker. Since 1992, he specializes in servicing clients with investments in The People's Republic of China. Ricky is now the Deputy Group Managing Director of Pacific World Group and the Managing Director of Pacific World (Asia) Limited. He is a past chairman of CIB and has served on the General Committee since 2001.

Mr. Patrick Chan – Immediate Past Chairman

Patrick is the Managing Director of Nova Insurance Consultants Limited of Nova Insurance Group, a subsidiary of FSE Lifestyle Services Limited which is a leading conglomerate in the services industry listed in the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (Stock Code: 0331.HK) with over 24,000 employees, managing Nova Insurance Group’s operations in Hong Kong, Macau as well as Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou under an affiliated company of FSE Lifestyle. He has been working in the insurance industry since 1987 straight upon graduation from the Chinese University of Hong Kong started as an Executive Trainee in the Insurance Division of a British "hong". Apart from spending more than 35 years in broking, Patrick also gained Bancassurance experience whilst working at a leading international bank with global responsibilities. His specialized areas include construction, property, aviation insurance and China having been servicing clients with investments there since 1990. Patrick is a member of the Hong Kong Academy of Finance and also sitting on the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) Hong Kong Member Advisory Board. He is a past chairman of CIB and has served on the General Committee since 2006.

Mr. James Bolus

James is the Chief Executive of International Financial Services Hong Kong Limited. He has spent more than a decade with the firm in Hong Kong. Prior to his move to Hong Kong, James held positions with multinational banks and IFA firms within the insurance and wealth management industry in the UK. James has been active in his support of Hong Kong’s financial services sector and has previously served as Chairman of the Independent Financial Advisors Association.

Mr. Qianli Shi

Qianli is the Deputy General Manager and the head of Business Management Department, Taiping Reinsurance Brokers Limited. Qianli holds the ACII and the Senior Associate of ANZIIF, has more than 15 years of working experience in the insurance industry, worked for several major international insurance broker companies Before joining Taiping.

He specialized in the reinsurance broking sector, has a deep understanding of the general insurance and reinsurance markets in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau, and provides professional reinsurance consulting services to the insurance company clients.

Mr. Ken Cheung

Ken serves as the Managing Director of Hanson Insurance Brokers Limited, a distinguished insurance broking firm established in 1994. The company specializes in crafting comprehensive risk solutions within the realms of both General and Life insurance, consistently prioritizing client excellence through a professional approach.

Commencing his professional journey in 2018 upon graduating from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Ken has demonstrated a commitment to continuous learning and professional development. He has successfully obtained a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) and is currently engaged in advancing his qualifications by pursuing the coveted Advanced Diploma.

In December 2023, Ken was elected as a General Committee Member of the Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers (CIB), which underscores his dedication to contributing to the broader insurance landscape.

Ms. Tiffany Lung

Tiffany is the Director of MI Insurance Brokers Limited, a company with an original history dating back over 100 years focusing primarily in general insurance, specialty products and employees benefits and is a leading Lloyd’s Coverholder in bloodstock insurance in the region. Tiffany’s insurance career started in 2015 when she returned from overseas to reign on the success of the business built by her predecessors. Tiffany graduated from the University of Toronto in Chemical Engineering and is a Senior Associate in Australian and New Zealand Institution of Insurance and Finance.

In December 2019, she was elected as a General Committee Member of The Hong Kong Confederation of Insurance Brokers (CIB).

Mr. RATH, Bhabani Sankar (BS)

Mr. Rath (BS) has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joined the industry in 1984 as a Management Trainee in The New India Assurance Co Ltd in Mumbai, India. Since then, he has gained wide experience in general insurance and reinsurance. He moved to Hong Kong in 1994 and has been working with Premier Insurance since 1998. He is currently the Managing Director of Premier Insurance Brokers Limited. He joined the General Committee in 2005 and the Membership Sub-committee from 2000. He served the Confederation as its Deputy Chairman from June 2012 to November 2014. He then became Chairman of the Confederation from 2014 to 2019.

Mr. Andy Wong

Andy has joined insurance industry in Hong Kong since 1993 and worked as broker for the past 25 years. Currently, he is the Senior Vice President of Marsh (Hong Kong) Limited leading the practices of Credit Specialties and Insurer Consulting Group. During his 19 years in Marsh, Andy has been specializing in financial & professional risks and credit risks insurance. From 2019, he has expanded his role to provide business consultancy services to insurance companies under Insurer Consulting Group.
